Weather & Crop Conditions

Australia had another week of excellent rainfall this week with WA getting widespread rain while the east coast received patchy rainfall over the weekend. The planting rain was timely for WA who’ve had a slow start compared to other growing regions in the country and combined with a favourable two-week forecast, western grower concerns should be easing now that the start the state was after is materialising. On the east coast rainfall was widespread but very patchy with some areas receiving up to 50mm with isolated storms. Crop and moisture conditions in NSW and Victoria couldn’t be better for this time of year however the recent rains have gone a long way in South East Queensland where topsoil needed a top up after excellent early year falls. Weather models are also showing another weather front that’s expected to bring rain to the east coast this weekend shortly after brushing through WA and SA, although the focal point of this event is expected to be in southern areas unlike this week where rains drifted further North.
